On November 13, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during his stay in Turkmenbashi city, at the request of Cabinet Deputy Chairman S.Toilyev and Minister of Health and Medical Industry of the country N.Amannepesov, got acquainted with the state of affairs at the construction of a 400-bed multidisciplinary hospital that has entered the final stage, and also held a working meeting.

The issues of strengthening people’s health, the establishment of the active lifestyle principles in society are in the center of constant attention of the head of state. In recent years, medical centers equipped with advanced technique of leading world manufacturers have been built in different parts of the country.

In this context, it should be noted that on November 10, the Balkan velayat hosted solemn ceremonies for the commissioning of two healthcare facilities at once, which were attended by Cabinet Deputy Chairman S.Berdimuhamedov, who oversees the Balkan velayat, on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan.

Thus, a new building of an infectious diseases hospital, equipped in accordance with international standards, has been commissioned in Turkmenbashi city. Its structure includes: reception department, laboratory, functional diagnostic, surgical, intensive care, maternity, physiotherapy departments, dispensary observation departments, viral hepatitis, infectious diseases of the upper respiratory tract, intestinal infections, especially dangerous airborne infectious diseases, chronic infectious diseases department.

The hospital is provided with modern medical equipment of leading world manufacturers, in particular, Germany, Sweden, Italy, France, Japan, the USA, South Korea, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, the People’s Republic of China.

The functional and diagnostic department includes rooms for computed tomography, ultrasound, electrocardiography, endoscopy, X-ray room, fibroscan room.

There are also a number of rapid tests for the presence of blood sugar, hemoglobin, cholesterol, urea, bilirubin and its fractions, determination of pH, protein in urine, glucose, viral hepatitis antigens, other viruses, their qualitative and quantitative study.

The physiotherapy department, where patients effectively supplement the course of treatment with prescribed procedures, also has the latest equipment of leading world manufacturers.

Also on November 10, the modern infrastructure of the healthcare sector was supplemented by the hospital, which was officially opened in the Makhtumkuli etrap, designed for 50 inpatient and 30 outpatient beds.

The clinic, which is a complex of two-storeyed buildings, is equipped with the latest specialized technique and tools of leading world manufacturers, including Germany, France, Italy, Japan, Austria, Turkey, Poland, Sweden, Spain, Slovakia, Belgium, the Netherlands, the USA and the Republic of Korea. Thanks to this, all conditions have been created here for the provision of various types of qualified medical care.

Qualified specialists also conduct an appointment in the department of functional diagnostics. Here, an Affiniti ultrasound diagnostic device of the Philips Dutch company is installed in the ultrasound room. In fact, it is an innovative platform, characterized by the versatility of research paths. In the cardiologist’s office there is a 12-channel electrocardiograph Cardio M Plus (Medical Econet, Germany) and an electrocardiograph manufactured by the Siemens German company, which determines the features of the work of all departments of the heart. 

The X-ray room, CT and endoscopy rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art special-purpose hardware. In particular, an electroencephalograph Sienna of the Austrian company EMS Handelsges, a fluorograph and an X-ray machine manufactured by Villa Sistemi Medicali (Italy), an Access CT scanner of Philips, an EG-2990K video gastroscope of the Hoya Corporation Japanese company, and others are installed here.

The operating department is equipped, in particular, with a laparoscope and Various German-made monitor of Olympus company, which creates ample opportunities for performing low-traumatic operations on abdominal organs.

Massage couches installed in the physiotherapy department, equipment for restoring mobility of large and small joints of limbs, for vacuum, electro-, magneto-, micro-frequency and laser therapy are intended for the rehabilitation of patients after diseases, operations, injuries, for the rapid restoration of their ability to work, prevention of disability.

All conditions have been created in the maternity ward of the hospital. Maternal and child health protection is a special item of the Saglyk State Program and the generally socially-oriented policy pursued by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The wards for newborns have the baby-minding necessary equipment.

Today, upon arrival at the construction site of the multidisciplinary hospital, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was submitted the entire structure of the medical complex, including many highly specialized departments on tablets and mockups.

Having inquired about the progress of construction and equipment of a multidisciplinary hospital, the leader of the nation underlined that the use of modern innovative methods of disease prevention and best practices in order to strengthen people’s health is the main requirement for this complex, which is part of the healthcare structure.

On the ground floor of the hospital under construction there will be a reception department, an ambulance department, physiotherapy, dentistry, hemodialysis, chemotherapy rooms, where appropriate medical services will be rendered.

There are also departments of pediatrics, gynecology, neurotraumatology, surgery, urology, oncology, cardiology, endocrinology, etc. The hospital will house a maternity ward and a 200-seat conference hall. The new medical complex is planned to be fully equipped with advanced technique in accordance with high international standards.

As the head of Turkmenistan emphasized, the main goal of the development of the Avaza National Tourist Zone is the effective use of the resort potential of the coast, ensuring proper recreation of people.

Then, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting with the participation of some Deputy Prime Ministers, the head of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers, the Minister of Health and Medical Industry to consider important issues of socio-economic development of the country, including the Balkan velayat.

Considering that major international events are being organized in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, the head of state focused on the issue of further construction of different purpose facilities in the western region.

Speaking about equipping the hospital with the most modern medical technique, the head of Turkmenistan highlighted that medical staff should be distinguished by high professionalism, once again assigning to establish the development of international cooperation in this field, taking advanced training courses in scientific clinics around the world.

Emphasizing the comprehensive development of the Caspian region, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the multi-specialty hospital under construction should become a center for holding events of international importance in the field of healthcare, addressing specific instructions to the relevant leaders in this respect.

Concluding the working meeting, the nation’s leader accentuated that concern for the well-being of people should be reflected in the development program of the Avaza National Tourist Zone and, wishing everyone success in their activities, departed the event venue.

Then, arriving at the Turkmenbashi International Airport, the head of state flew to the capital.
