Today President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov delivered a video address at the International Forum for Northern Economic Cooperation.
The agenda of the high-level forum held with participation of the President of the Republic of Korea and heads of a number of countries, included priority issues of Eurasian partnership in the light of modern realities and future perspectives.
The head of the Republic of Korea, expressing sincere acknowledgement to leaders of states and other delegates who participate in the International Forum for Northern Economic Cooperation, underlined a significance of the present high-level meeting. President Moon Jae-in also made an emphasis on the importance of regular organization of such events urged to further facilitation of strengthening of interstate relations for regional countries.
In his speech, the leader of the nation confirmed the initiative position of neutral Turkmenistan in development of the constructive regional and global dialogue which answer interests of universal peace, wellbeing and progress.
Addressing President of the Republic of Korea Moon Jae-in and participants of the meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov thanked for the given opportunity to deliver a welcoming speech at the International Forum for Northern Economic Cooperation and wished all successes in their work.
As an active participant of the process of development in the Eurasian continent, our country maintains constructive views and initiatives directed to consolidation of international efforts in achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, the leader of the nation said, commenting with satisfaction on the similarity of approaches in this connection to a greater extent to development and realization of programs and strategies for sustainable development in the Eurasian continent.
The given circumstance is stipulated with the substantial component of initiatives proceeding from the New Northern Economic Policy of the Republic of Korea and the strategic course of Turkmenistan aimed at “Revival of the Great Silk Road”. These two programs include a set of measures that touch upon development of infrastructures, “green” economy, energy, transport and ecological safety, digitalization of economy and a number of other areas.
At the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, Turkmenistan concertized its initiatives made earlier and directed to intensification of international cooperation in this direction. In particular, we propose under the aegis of the WHO to start a comprehensively research of the etiology of the coronavirus as well as to conduct a a target work in therapy sand prevention of diseases caused by the coronavirus infection.
Setting forward these and other initiatives, we pay much attention to implementation of related projects in the regional and bilateral formats, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov pointed out.
Turkmenistan highly appreciates long-term fruitful cooperation with the Republic of Korea in such areas as healthcare, “green growth“, food security and other spheres which make up a component part of the New Northern Economic Policy of the Republic of Korea, the leader of the nation stated.
2021, declared as International Year of Peace and Trust by the UN General Assembly at the initiative of Turkmenistan, the core of which is a desire for attracting the attention of international community to the necessity of strengthen of peace culture and respectful dialogue, comes to an end. It also envisages elimination of trust deficit, which has arisen at present in interstate relations, the head of the Turkmen state said.
Concluding his speech, the head of the state once again congratulated all participants of the high-level meeting and wished them success on the sidelines of the Forum.
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was sincerely thanked for his dynamic support in strengthening fruitful bilateral and international partnership and active position in consolidation of common efforts to develop solutions on important tasks of the global agenda.
