Today President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has taken part in the solemn ceremony of opening of the luxurious hotel "Garagum" with its versatile business centre, which has become one more bright sight of the Turkmen capital.
At the same time, Ashgabat, a unique pearl of Asia, is also recognized as a business and tourist centre, attracting more and more foreign visitors. Thus, the “Garagum” is to become a symbol of hospitality, friendliness and good neighbourhood - qualities for which the Turkmen people from time immemorial are famous.
It is necessary to note that the building of the hotel with its multipurpose business centre started in September 2018. The new hotel and business complex erected on the crossing of A.Niyazov Avenue and Hoja Ahmet Yasavy Street, near the International airport of the capital, differs with its original shape in which advanced tendencies in the field of architecture are harmoniously combined with the best traditions of national architecture. Realisation of this project was entrusted to Turkish company Rönesans Holding - an old business partner of our country.
In harmony with the name of the hotel in its architectonics and design an embodiment of the image of unique natural sight of Turkmenistan - majestic desert Garagum with its bewitching landscapes. Central and two lateral buildings of the complex connected among themselves by smooth contours as if repeat outlines of the dunes, which are bending around the blossoming oasis, and the stylised yurt organically supplementing a general composition, underlines national colour. The golden colour of the Garagum sand is also reflected in stained-glass windows decorating the hotel sparkling in bright beams of the sun.
Having greeted participants of the ceremony, the head of the state passes into the specially established podium.
Addressing the present and all compatriots, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined that today roads of friendship and brotherhood lead to independent Turkmenistan – the heart of the Great Silk road as our neutral Native land, which pursues goodwill policy, consistently develops regional and international relations for universal peace, well-being and progress.
The new hotel put in operation in the year, which marked the 30th anniversary of independence of our Fatherland, is a worthy gift for a big holiday, one more majestic building augmenting the beauty of our pearl capital. It has become the 70th large project opened in the country this year.
In development of the design of each project, a special significance is attached to combination of national traditions of architecture, which goes back to old times and was inherited from our ancestors and modern advanced experience, achievement of harmony of constructions with the natural beauty of the country. This hotel has received the name “Garagum”. Its facade reminds the original beauty of golden dunes of the Garagum that testifies to full conformity of the given project to the shown requirements.
Further, the leader of the nation cited the poetic lines of poet Berdinazar Hudaynazarov that glorifies our Native land and its unique natural sight - Garagum:
Caravan track the longest,
All under the sun our marvellous land,
Garagum – my native home, -
This steppe is blessed.
The conditions corresponding to high modern requirements are created at the hotel, which is to take an important place in expansion of international cooperation and development of business ties,. This seven-story luxurious complex with a total area of 6, 8 hectares has all possibilities for reception of high-ranking visitors, their comfortable rest, organization of various actions, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said. In 87 hotel rooms, all necessary for reception and service of visitors with age-old Turkmen hospitality is provided.
The world class hotel with a view of maintenance of favourable conditions for work and rest of visitors houses 8 business centres, a banquet hall in the shape of a white yurt for 500 persons, a restaurant for 150 places, the halls intended for meetings and conferences, shops where it is possible to get various goods. Besides it, the complex also includes administrative offices and the office for bank services.
There comes a culmination moment: to the storm of applause of the gathered President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov cuts a symbolical ribbon - the hotel "Garagum" with its multipurpose business centre is opened! During this moment, balloons fly up into the sky a light cloud.
There are 87 rooms, including 17 standard, 8-family (suite class), 47-luxe-class and 15 - super-lux, designed as a whole for 204 places.
Besides it, it also envisages the corresponding infrastructure for cultural recreation and practice of sports. At the disposal of guests - restaurants, SPA room, a fitness studio equipped with various training apparatus, an indoor swimming pool and a beauty parlour. There is also a banquet hall for 500 places. It also houses shops and a medical room.
The multipurpose business centre, which is included in the infrastructure of the complex, also provides optimum possibilities for business meetings, negotiations and actions of various formats.
The adjoining territory of the project is arranged well and planted with trees and shrubs. Here are fountains, numerous saplings of trees and bushes, various flowers grow. The new extensive green zone, which stretches by the complex, has become an integral component of local landscape. Besides development of the favourable microclimate in this corner of the capital, it will have a positive influence on the city ecology as a whole.
Having proceeded to the hotel, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov familiarised with its interior design, decoration and the conditions crated for comfortable stay and service of guests.
Continuing his acquaintance with the hotel, the leader of the nation examined its rooms, including standard rooms and suites. In this connection, it is necessary to mark that irrespective of their class all rooms of the hotel complex completely correspond to the international standards. All they are provided with necessary facilities for comfortable stay, including magnificent convenient furniture, modern equipment, as well as aesthetic touch.
The layout of the building became drew greatly the attention of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, such exclusive details of its interior design and furniture, as thematic bás-relief panel and picturesque landscape canvases.
Having finished his acquaintance with the hotel-business complex, the head of the state left a memorable record in the Book of guests of honour.
Then here, in the hotel, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Chairman of the Board of Turkish Company Rönesans Holding Erman Ilicak.
The head of the state pointed out that our country is always open for a fruitful dialogue with foreign partners, including with representatives of Turkish business circles. During its long-term cooperation, it has gained successful experience of joint work in various spheres. So, for years of its activity in Turkmenistan Rönesans Holding has carried out the building of several important infrastructure projects, among which is the hotel "Garagum" with its versatile business centre.
Having expressed his deep gratitude for appreciation of work of the company to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, Erman Ilicak expressed the interest of Rönesans Holding in continuation of mutually beneficial cooperation with our country on a long-term basis and an aspiration to take part further in realisation of complex transformation programs initiated by the leader of the nation aimed at innovative development of Turkmenistan and strengthening of its economic power.
Further, the head of the state held there a working meeting with participation of Deputy-chairman of the Cabinet E.Orazgeldiyev who supervises agriculture, and Chairman of the Board of Turkish Company Rönesans Holding Erman Ilicak.
As President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted, in recent years as a result of the cardinal reforms developed in the agro-industrial complex the material base of the sector in the activity of which modern management methods and innovations take root, has considerably strengthened.
Then the meeting continued with participation of Deputy-chairman of the Cabinet Ch. Purchekov. The issues, concerning construction of new power stations and realisation of joint work in the given direction in Turkmenistan became a topic of detailed discussion.
As was marked, Rönesans Holding together with Japanese partners participated in realisation of civil-engineering designs of the factory "Marykarbamid" in Mary region, an enterprise for manufacture of gasoline from natural gas in Akhal region, the power station in Charjev district of Lebap region, which has no analogue in the region.
Leaving the building, the head of Turkmenistan handed as gift to the hotel “Garagum” with its multipurpose business centre keys to new vehicles.
Then, the leader of the nation took part in the festive sadaka, which was given on the occasion of the opening of the new project.
On completion of the sadaka, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov once again congratulated the gathered with the opening of the hotel "Garagum" with its multipurpose business centre and having said warmly goodbye to everyone, left the venue.
