The organizers of TGC-2016 are the State Concern "Turkmengaz" in collaboration with Summit Trade Events Ltd. Company (the United Kingdom). It is an annual international forum, a traditional meeting place of high-level professionals which once again attracts the representatives of the oil and gas community from different countries.

This year, TGC 2016 programme is designed to discuss the vital issues of natural gas industry in Turkmenistan. In the framework of TGC-2016 will cover large scale projects related to gas exploration and production; implementation of works to ensure energy security through diversification of export of Turkmen energy resources; integrated gas processing and increasing the volume of liquefied gas and gas condensate; receipt of the products of deep chemical processing of gas. It will be discussed other priority areas of cooperation including investment prospects in gas sector of Turkmenistan.

Turkmenistan is one of the largest energy powers in the world which owns huge potential reserves of hydrocarbons. As is known, the status of the largest energy power has been proven the field Galkynysh. According to independent international experts, the field Galkynysh and Yashlar have reserves of natural gas - 26.2 trillion cubic meters.

As largest supplier of "blue fuel" in Central Asia, Turkmenistan is well positioned to increase production in the coming years. Last year, additional inflows of natural gas from the gas-bearing areas such as Galkynysh - Giurgiu, Begly, and South Iolaten №26 fields confirmed the discovery of right sports fields by geologists from the corporation "Turkmengeologiya". Those fields have enormous resources of natural gas.

Currently, the State Concern "Turkmengaz" is developed about 30 gas and gas condensate fields, including Dovletabat and Shatlyk, the largest fields are Kerpichli, Gazlydepe, Bagaja, Elguyy and others. The fund of exploitation well is about 1000 units.

The priority strategic area of development of Turkmenistan's fuel and energy sector is diversification of exports in the international markets of energy resources. The key factors of diversification supply are the enormous reserves of natural gas in the field "Galkynysh". On initial stage it will be the main resource base of natural fuel supplies to the member states of the international project. Therefore, the work on development of the gas field of the third stage “Galkynysh” is of a great importance.

In December of last year it started construction of Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline. One of the main goals created by Turkmenistan the interstate TAPI gas transportation system is to ensure diversification of export deliveries of natural gas to world markets. The construction of the TAPI gas pipeline will ensure the long-term supply of energy resources in the countries of Southeast Asia and will provide further economic development of the region, the growth of its social well-being, enhancing energy security and sustainable development. In the territory of Turkmenistan it has begun laying track plotting of gas pipeline.

Currently, Turkmenistan has successfully implemented the state concept of processing raw oil, natural gas, hydrocarbon resources. The ultimate goal of it all is to turn the country into industrial power, attracting investment, introduction of innovations, and creation of new industries through the processing of natural resources.

The International Gas Congress of Turkmenistan - TGC-2016 will activate the increased dynamics of cooperation in recent years and serve to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign companies and government agencies in the oil and gas sector.
