As it is known, during video conference session on May 23, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov set the start date of this important agricultural campaign. In accordance to this, the grain growers of Ahal, Balkan, Lebap and Mary velayat started the mowing and farmers of Dashoguz velayat would join them on June 8.
In this year, Turkmen cultivators will have to harvest 1600 thousand tons of grain from 760 thousands of hectares allotted for winter crops where Ahal velayat has to harvest 450, Mary - 380, Lebap – 350, Dashoguz – 300 and Balkan velayat – 120 thousand tons accordingly. The main part of arable lands was sown with high-yielding variety of wheat in particular “Sahrayi”, “Juvan”, “Bitarap”, Yoloten - 1”, Yoloten - 3”, “Turkmenbashy – 1”, “Gyzylshaglavyk – 25”, “Miras”, “Akbash”, “Vassa”, “Irishka”, “Yubileynaya – 100”, “Bat’ko” and “Krupinka”.
Totally, 1562 combine harvesters of “Case”, “New Holland”, “John Deer”, “CLASS” and other brands will be used throughout the country. 350 mobile breakdown and maintenance mechanic team will service the cultivators round-the-clock, providing them with necessary fuel, lubricants and spare parts of machinery. Appropriate living conditions were created for mechanics, drivers and other workers in the field camps; performances of art masters and mobile shops would be organised.
6902 lorries of Ministry of Automobile Transport of Turkmenistan and other ministries and branch organizations will provide the delivery of wheat to 158 reception centres as well as to granaries and grain elevators. The laboratories where representatives of Central State Service “Turkmenstandartlary” would test the quality of grain are prepared for the start of harvest. State association “Turkmengallaonumleri” will make timely settling of accounts with cultivators for delivered harvest through local branches of State commercial bank “Dayhanbank”
Seminars with participation of representative of Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources, velayat and etrap hyakimliks (administration offices), central State Service “Turkmenstandartlary”, State Concern “Turkmenhimiya”, the heads of farmers associations, agronomists, machine experts, leaseholder – cultivators, elders and representatives of non-governmental organizations were conducted on the occasion of beginning of the harvest season.
Wide spectrum of issues of smooth-running reaping of winter crops, efficient and co-ordinated work of harvest conveyor were discussed during the seminars.
