Sambo is a combat sport, as well as a hand-to-hand defense system. This martial art combines the most effective techniques from other martial arts. This sport is a system of educating a person, developing not only his physical skills, but also moral and volitional qualities.

This type of martial art is very popular both abroad and in our country, many wrestlers raised the Turkmen flag at international sambo competitions.

How can athletes and coaches join the international SAMBO family after passing the appropriate certification. The corresponding memo was published on the official website of the International SAMBO Federation (FIAS). Certification is a competition in knowledge of SAMBO theory and in demonstration of SAMBO techniques (self-insurance, techniques in the prone position, techniques in the standing position, self-defense).

Certification activities are aimed at increasing the level of technical preparedness of athletes; the level of professional skills of coaches, as well as the introduction of a unified system of standards for the training of sambists.

Certification enables athletes to improve their knowledge and skills, to represent the national team at FIAS tournaments.

To pass certification, athletes need to register in the FIAS Database by choosing their National SAMBO Federation. Then select a suitable event in the "Certification" calendar, successfully pass the certification by passing the exam. And finally, the appropriate degree and FIAS certificate.

An athlete can apply patches to a sambo belt only after the information about the assignment of the corresponding degree appears in the FIAS database. To designate coaching degrees, chevrons of various geometric and figures shapes are used, that are applied to the sambo uniform.
