This achievement gives confidence in that farmers will successfully fulfil the main task of the 2016 harvesting campaign – to reap the rich harvest without losses and deliver 1.6 million tons of selectesd wheat grain to the granaries of the Motherland.
The state provides the support to the agricultural industry, including technical re-equipment and modernization of the production infrastructure of the agricultural sector, development of the chemical industry, that supplies chemical fertilizers to agricultural workers, solutions of the problems on land reclamation and water supply. Tractors, combine harvesters and other agricultural equipment are purchased and modern grain elevators and milling complexes are put into operation throughout the country.
Speaking about the financial and economic levers of the agricultural reform, it should be noted that peasant associations received concessional loans for the purchase of specialized equipment and financing the agricultural production costs. The systematic increase of purchase prices for various agricultural products, including wheat, and improvement of the state system on settling accounts with agricultural producers serves as a good incentive for agricultural workers.
The fact that Turkmenistan started exporting grain is of crucial importance for the progressive development of the state. In general, all this vividly proves the successful fulfilment of the goal on ensuring the abundance of food products in the country, including through satisfying the demand for domestically produced bread on the local market.
The harvesting campaign continues. Every day, thousands of tons of wheat are delivered to the receiving points. Grain growers are determined to reap the harvest to the last grain and fulfil their contractual obligations on wheat production. It should be noted that this year, 760,000 hectares have been sown with wheat grain. The main part of the agricultural lands in the country were sown with high-yielding wheat adapted well to the soil and climate conditions of Turkmenistan.
