The Scientific - Research Institute of Natural Gas State Concern "Turkmengas" has built a new geological model of gas fields "Yol-guyy" and "10 years of Independence."

In order to develop it, it was used the up-to-date drilling materials and the latest exploratory wells. Thanks to the implemented work in order to clarify the gas reserves in the fields "Yolguyy" with capacity of more than 30 percent. The expansion of deposits drilling exploratory wells, recommended by scientists of the Institute, helped to additionally increase the amount of annual natural gas production in this field. The gas-bearing areas of the field, "10 Years of Independence" reserves grew by more than 20 per cent which was approved by the State Commission on Mineral Reserves. It is also provided an opportunity to further increase annual natural gas production in this field.

In the framework of making up of adjustment to the draft project, in the field Galkynysh, scientists and specialists of the Institute, together with the company “Gaffney, Cline & Associates “(the United Kingdom) worked on improvement of digital geological and hydrodynamic models of deposits, created on the basis of high-tech software ”Petrel-Eclips”. This work included the analysis and interpretation of all existing as well as newly acquired 3D seismic data, the results of exploration and development of wells, and on this basis to update computer geological model of the field. New technology has allowed to significantly increase the volume and quality of the model database, allowing to carry out a detailed analysis of the structure and capacity- filtration properties, a powerful productive stratum –a collector.

A three-phase space of geological and hydrodynamic model of the reservoir was used for multivariate prediction of technological parameters of development in terms of long-term perspective. On its basis, it is prepared scientific recommendations on quantity, structures and optimal placement of production wells at the field area with regard to phases of its rapid development, the dynamics of stratum and the wellhead pressure, including perforation strategy of production intervals.
