Mass sowing of winter crops has been started in Turkmenistan

Grain fields of the country will occupy 760 thousand hectares of land, where farmers will have to pick 1600 thousand tons of grains including 450 in Ahal velayat, 380 in Mary velayat, 350 in Lebap velayat, 300 in Dashoguz velayat and 120 thousand tons in Balkan velayat.

Turkmen farmers prepared thoroughly to responsible campaign, having ploughed and fertilized agricultural fields, allocated for wheat harvest of the next year, right after the crop mowing. High quality seeds of harvest breeds of the wheat like “Sahrayi”, “Juvan”, “Bitarap”, “Yoloten-1”, “Yoloten-3”, “Turkmenbashy-1”, “Gyzylshaglavyk-25”, “Miras”, “Akbash”, “Irishka”, “Aniversary-100”, “Bat’ko” and “Krupinka” was prepared for the sowing.

Grain growers are fully provided with agricultural equipment. As it was informed at central branch departments of agricultural complex of the country, more than two thousand ploughing and 5 thousand cultivating tractors like “Case”, “Claas”, “John Deer”, “Belarus-80N” and “Belarus-82.1” as well as more than 1670 seeding machines, other harvesters and equipment will be involved in current campaign in Turkmenistan. Thus, all conditions for optimum time of sowing period are present, what is guarantee of good harvest.

As is known considerable role is given to agricultural sector in economic policy of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which is aimed at consolidation of economic power of the Motherland, steadfast improvement of wellbeing of the people. Targeted support that expressed in technical re-equipment and modernization of all production infrastructure of agricultural complex, development of chemical industry providing the farmers with mineral fertilizers, solution of issues related to land reclamation and water supply is rendered under agrarian reform of agricultural branch initiated by the Leader of the Nation. Modern tractors, combines and other equipment are being bought for agricultural industry complex needs. In accordance with the “Programme of development of agricultural branch of Turkmenistan for 2012 – 2016”, new elevators, provided with top modern equipment, with sections for preparation of selected seeds for sowing, were built in all velayats of the country.

It worth mentioning that agricultural complex is released from taxes and other obligatory payments. Leaseholder, farmers’ associations, landowners and machine operators are given with bank credits at reduced price for financing of expenses for agricultural production and purchase of equipment. Systematic rise of prices for wheat serves as good stimulus for farmers as well.

The fact that Turkmenistan has started to export the grain has great importance from steadfast state development point of view. It worth mentioning also that in the last year, our country was awarded with special prize of the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the United Nations Organization for achievements in food security provision as one of the goals of development of the millennium stipulated in programme of the FAO for 2015. Generally, this serves as expressive confirmation of successful solution of the tasks for provision of food abundance in the country including for the account of full satisfaction of demands of internal market for bread of native production.
