The Company increased production of oil up to 2 142 825 tons at Turkmenistan offshore of the Caspian Sea in the first half of the year. High production rates are the result of efficient planning and effective distribution of resources for steadfast achievement of targets. It is been 16 years since our foreign partners signed Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) with Turkmenistan, which stipulates works for development and production of oil and gas at “Cheleken” contractual territory.
For the years of partnership, the company gained huge experience in development of the Caspian offshore. As for today, our foreign partners invested around 5.45 billion US dollars in development of offshore fields and continue to actively increase the investments. Three new marine stationary platforms were built and installed at Jigalbeg and Jeytun oil fields in the Caspian offshore. “Dragon Oil” utilizes large number of new as well as old oil wells, where works for intensification of oil production are regularly carried out. In this year, eight stationary platforms were reconstructed and reinforced with metal constructions at offshore fields; works for reconstruction of landings were conducted. Laying of six underwater pipelines is carried out for improvement of delivery system of product from marine platforms to shore.
Specialists of the company drill using several different types of drilling equipment at the fields. Use of modern equipment allowed considerable fastening of the development of the fields and keep up with planned volume of production. Four wells were drilled and complete workover of other four wells were done during first half year of 2016. Currently, the production is carried out by ejectors, electrical centrifugal submersible pumps and gas lifting exploitation. Programme for ejecting water has started at one of the platforms at Jeytun Field in June, 2013 after installation of appropriate equipment. Preparation for pumping of water into some parts of the fields in several stages is carried out. Exploration programmes for ejecting water will be continued at other two platforms in this and next years.
The company continues works for improvement of shore oil and gas infrastructure of “Cheleken” contractual territory, which includes several large scale and strategic facilities. The construction of ten storage reservoirs, where eight for oil storage and two for firewater, is undergoing. These tanks will be built in addition to existing six storage reservoirs. The construction is planned to be accomplished until the end of 2016. This project is very important for further growth and development of the company. While currently, total oil storage capacity is 300 000 oil barrels, together with new reservoirs it will make 1 800 000 barrels (200 000 tons).
Simultaneouslifting of two oil tankers became feasible after construction of additional oil storages and pipelines at Alaja oil terminal, what considerably increased export capabilities of the company. There are workshop for repair of stop valves and electric drives, warehouses for drilling equipment and chemical agents, underground firewater storage among the facilities under construction. At the same time, dredging of channels of Hazar Port and Alaja Oil Terminal are carried out.
The company plans further growth of investments to increase production volumes, construction of new platforms and improvement of port infrastructure.
