An international conference dedicated to the development of transport and transit corridors to strengthen regional and interregional links has started today in Ashgabat. The forum was initiated by the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, and all the country's transport agencies and logistics centers were the organizers.

More than 400 participants showed interest in discussing the pressing issues of the transport and logistics sector, more than 170 of them are representatives of foreign companies. A distinctive feature of the Ashgabat conference is that a considerable number of representatives of the private business of the transport sector take an active part in it. This circumstance will provide an opportunity to establish business contacts between government agencies and heads of firms and companies.

It is no secret that the transport and logistics sector has been one of the most affected by the COVID-2019 pandemic. In this regard, the current conference will become an important platform where the necessary mechanisms and recommendations for the post-pandemic activation of international transport and logistics links will be developed.

Turkmenistan, located in the very center of the most important transport routes of the Eurasian continent, has every opportunity to implement integration projects. This explains the great interest in the conference, which attracted the attention of many international transport unions and organizations, leading specialists and experts in the transport sector.
