The second issue of the scientific and technical journal "Standard, Quality and Safety", dedicated to international and state standards and their role in our life, has been published. The publication of the Main State Service "Turkmenstandartlary" offers an up-to-date selection of materials in Turkmen, Russian and English, prepared by both the specialists of the Service and teachers of the country's leading universities.
The material from the editors of the publication notes that this year marks a round date, namely 10 years since the publication of the first issue of the Standard, Quality and Safety magazine. The journal was issued in accordance with the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan dated December 22, 2011 “On the publication of the scientific and technical journal “Standard, Quality and Safety”. In March 2012, its first issue was published, which was one of the significant steps aimed at periodically covering the large-scale socio-economic reforms being implemented in our country, as well as domestic and world news and achievements in the field of standardization.
Over the past 10 years, the periodical devoted to the field of standardization has regularly published articles under such headings as "Compliance with the standard", "Quality and safety", "State supervision", "Labor protection", "Metrology", "International units of measurement”, "Economy". The editorial staff expresses their sincere gratitude to the esteemed President of Turkmenistan for the opportunities and conditions created to cover the important events taking place in our country and publish publications at a high quality level.
The second issue of the journal published articles by employees of the regional branches of the Service: “Quality and results” by S. Dzhumageldiev, head of the State Service “Turkmenstandartlary” of the Dashoguz velayat, “In the name of protecting the life and health of people” M. Govkiev, head of the labor protection and subsoil department of the State Service "Turkmenstandartlary" of the Mary velayat, "The goal is the safety of grain" H. Khaydarov, deputy department of state supervision of the State Service "Turkmenstandartlary" of the Akhal velayat and the city of Ashgabat, "Reference base" K. Kasymov, chief specialist in the Scientific and Methodological Department of Marketing and the Study of International Practice State Reference Center.
The material of Sh. Artykova, dedicated to the memory of one of the veterans of the Turkmen school of standardization, Garyagdy Mukhammetnazarov, who gave 44 years of his life to this work and managed to nurture more than one generation of specialists, is filled with great respect and reverence for her mentor.
It will be interesting not only for specialists, but also for a wide range of readers to familiarize themselves with the material “National units of measurement” by A. Khodzhakgayeva, which tells about the traditional methods used by our ancestors to determine the mass, volume, size, height, thickness, length, temperature and a time when there were no instruments for their accurate measurement.
The author gives specific information about the ancient national units of measurement from the Explanatory Dictionary of the Turkmen Language. The journal also published materials on Turkmenistan's cooperation with the World Trade Organization (WTO), on the development of the electronic industry and the compliance of the products of the Aýdyň gijeler economic society with international standards.
