A new railway bridge was put into operation in the Mary velayat. An important object of transport infrastructure was erected at the 316th kilometer of the Karakum River between the «Gurbangala-Zähmet» railway stations.

The length of the bridge is 250 meters.  Safe navigation conditions for vessels on the river are provided by five navigable spans.

The object was erected by the team of the construction and installation department №6 of the «Demirýollary» Open Joint-Stock Company by order of «Türkmendemirýollary». Especially for the construction of the bridge, metal structures made at the «Tyumenstalmost» plant in the Russian Federation were delivered to Turkmenistan.

Linking the regions of the country, the bridge will serve for the movement of freight and passenger trains. The first train has already passed along the new railway track.
