The Ambassador of the Austrian Republic is accredited to Turkmenistan

Today, on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Chairwoman of the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan G.Mammedova received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Austria to Turkmenistan Thomas Schuller-Hotzburgh.

On behalf of the head of state, the head of the Mejlis congratulated the guest on his appointment to a high diplomatic post, wishing him success in strengthening the ties of friendship and intensifying multifaceted cooperation between Turkmenistan and Austria.

Thanking for the good wishes and warm welcome on the Turkmen soil, the diplomat, in turn, conveyed greetings and best wishes from the leadership of his country to the President of Turkmenistan. The Ambassador underlined that he considers it an honor to represent Austria in a state that has gained great international prestige thanks to its peaceful policy and positive initiatives.

During the talk, the Austrian ambassador was informed in detail about the main directions of the domestic and foreign policy of independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan, about the implementation of large-scale transformations initiated by the head of the Turkmen state, as well as major international projects. Special emphasis was placed on the social policy pursued by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov aimed at improving the welfare and quality of life of Turkmen people.

The Austrian diplomat was also familiarized with the structure and multilateral activities of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan. In this regard, mutual interest was expressed in intensifying inter-parliamentary ties and interaction in a multilateral format, including through reputable international organizations and structures.

As the Ambassador emphasized, Austria highly appreciates the relations of friendship and constructive partnership that have developed between the two countries, another evidence of this is the Turkmen-Austrian business forum held in Ashgabat and the next meeting of the Joint Turkmen-Austrian Commission.

Cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, in science and high technologies, healthcare, sports and tourism, as well as in the intensification of cultural dialogue, reaffirming the ties of friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples, was named among the priorities of further interstate cooperation.

In conclusion, Thomas Schuller- Hotzburgh assured that, as the plenipotentiary representative of his country in Turkmenistan, he would actively facilitate the further development of multifaceted and effective cooperation meeting the long-term interests of the two peoples and states.
