On the occasion of the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland, annually celebrated in our country on January 27, the State Museum of the State Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan opened the exhibition «Devotion to High Duty».
The thematic exposition is dedicated to the valour of the Turkmen warriors from the historical epoch to the present. The halls of the museum contain valuable compositions, including jewellery swords, memorable photographs of military parades, carpets and other exhibits with history.
The first visitors to the exhibition were young cadets, students of the Military Institute and Specialized Military School № 1 named after Berdimuhamet Annayev.
Congratulating the audience on their professional holiday, the director of the museum, Meretgeldi Charyyev, gave the floor to the servicemen of the National Army.
Representatives of the State Border Service of Turkmenistan, the Military Institute of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan and the military school spoke to the youth. Senior cadets told the young cadets about the sacred duty of defending the Fatherland.
One example of serving the Motherland for today's youth is the great-grandfather of the President of Turkmenistan Berdimuhamed Annayev.
As a teacher, he selflessly fought on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. He returned to his homeland with a severe wound, but continued his noble mission - to teach and educate the younger generation, leaving a good memory among his compatriots.
The feat of Berdimuhamet Annayev is forever inscribed in the heroic history of the people.
In 2018, on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the medal «For Courage», intended for the great-grandfather of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, was transferred to our country.
Defenders of the Fatherland have always been and will be the embodiment of patriotism, honour, valour and courage, selfless service to the Motherland. Carefully preserving the memory of the exploits of all generations, the Turkmen people are proud of the past of their heroes.
