Multidisciplinary exposition, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange and the Trade and Industrial Chamber of the country, was located in the exhibition hall of the Trade and Industrial Chamber. Members of the Government, leaders of the Mejlis, ministries and departments, heads of diplomatic missions accredited to Turkmenistan, foreign guests, representatives of non-governmental organizations and mass media took part in the opening ceremony.
Representatives of almost 30 countries of the world, more than 70 foreign companies from Russia, Germany, USA, Great Britain, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, China, Singapore, India, Bangladesh, Iran, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus and other took part in the current review.
There are old partners, large producers of agricultural machineries and specialized equipment for cotton and processing facilities – “Claas” (Germany), “Maschio Gaspardo” (Italy), “John Deer”, “Valley”, “Case” (USA), Minsk Tractor Plant (Belarus), “Komatsu” (Japan), Uzagromash Holding (Uzbekistan), which expanding network of service centres in the regions of the country is summoned to provide quality service and maintenance of the equipment. American company “Lummus Corporation” presented its services for supply of full range of equipment and spare parts for cotton processing industry for the first time in Turkmen market.
Owing to the content of the exhibition, its participants and guests had great opportunity to familiarize with newest samples of production, efficient and ecological friendly technologies, to evaluate the variety of crops species, quality of seeds and processed material, share versatile work experience in cotton processing and agricultural branches.
Colourful decorated exhibition halls and stands of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management, the State Concern “Turkmenpagta” and “Turkmenkhimiya”, the State Association “Turkmenobahyzmat” and food industry, the State Committee for Environment Protection and Land Resources expressed professional interest of the participants and numerous guests. Scientists and specialists of Turkmen State Agricultural University, the institutes of the Academy of Science, achievements in selection of middle and fine fibre cotton by the Agricultural Institutes of the Research Centre of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management presented scientific developments and student projects.
Wide thematic section of the exhibition was dedicated to production of leading enterprises of textile industry as one of important export oriented branches of national economy. Turkmen cotton yarn and fabric, knitted and jeans cloth, readymade garments made by designer and technological solutions, are on high demand in many countries of the world.
Cotton fibre is a basic material for enterprises for production of medicinal cotton, hygienic and cosmetic cotton items as well as for the fabrics of medical industry specialized in production of different bondage materials and other items.
Expositions, prepared by foreign partners, give visual evidence of the opportunities of international cooperation. There are companies and enterprises involved not only in profile machine building industry but manufacturers and suppliers of different types of chemicals and plants pest control items as well as mini fertilizers and biological additives. These are «Bayer Group Science» (USA), “AgroHimprom” (Russia), “MAC GmbH” (Germany), “Hezret-aly-Akbar” (Iran).
Large transport companies specialized in import and export of cotton fibre, wool and readymade textile goods all over the world presented their stands at the exhibition. Exchange trades for cotton were held during the exhibition at exposition ground of the State Commodity and Raw Material Exchange.
It is worth to mention the participation of international organizations, the UN Development Programme and Ozone Centre in Turkmenistan, in close relations with which our state solves important issues of ecological security and sustainable development, establishment of healthy and favourable environment for work and life of people.
International Conference “Cotton Production of Turkmenistan and the World Market” was opened in the conference hall of the Trade and Industry Chamber during the exhibition. The reports, presented at the conference, paid special attention at steadily growing potential of cotton producing and processing branches, perspectives of their further development, increase of export of cotton production to foreign markets. The participants expressed great interest in the materials demonstrating comprehensive development and growing level of agricultural production under the transformations initiated by President of the country Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and aimed at provision of social and economic development of rural areas. After, the conference was continued in the form of two thematic sections, which were opened in Turkmen State Agricultural University and the building of Agricultural Complex.
