The acceptance of applications for participation in the II Open International Internet Olympiad in the discipline «Theoretical Mechanics», organized by the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan for students of higher educational institutions of the country and abroad, is nearing completion.
Registration for everyone who wants to take part in the Olympiad will last another 10 days, until the 20th of March of this year. You can apply for participation on the Institute's website in the Olympiad section.
The intellectual competition among students will be held from the 27th of March to 1st of April.
All students of domestic and foreign universities interested in the subject are invited to participate in the Olympiad, regardless of their specialization and year of study. The official languages of the competition are Turkmen, Russian and English. The Olympiad is held in the form of individual and team competitions. No more than five students from one university are allowed to participate in each of the two directions. As for the teams, they can be teams, i.e. formed from students of several universities.
For the participants of the individual round of the Olympiad, eight problems were prepared in three sections of theoretical mechanics. Among them are two tasks in the «Statics» section, two - in the «Kinematics» section and four more - in the «Dynamics» section. You have 240 minutes (4 hours) to complete these tasks. The teams will be given five tasks in the sections of theoretical mechanics and 60 minutes (1 hour) to solve them. The tasks of the competition will be posted in the above section of the website of the organizing university, where you can find the schedule of the Olympiad.
The best experts in theoretical mechanics will be determined by the highest number of points scored on the basis of individual and team rounds. Winners and prize-winners will be announced and awarded with diplomas of the corresponding degrees on the 1st of April, the closing day of the Olympiad.

It should be noted that the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan successfully held the 1st Open International Internet Olympiad in Theoretical Mechanics last spring. About 300 university students from 16 countries of the world - Turkmenistan, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Romania, Hungary, Portugal, Turkey, Greece, Ecuador and China spoke at its site.
