In 2016, rice farmers of the region have collected almost 48 thousand tons of "pearly grain" including about 4 thousand tons of the plan targets from the 10 thousand hectares. The biggest contribution to the result has made by farmers of Serdarabat district, who prepared about 12 thousand tons of rice.

After completing the harvest time, rice farmers started clearing and processing of the crop. Lebap region is the largest producer of "pearl grain" in Turkmenistan.
