This year, it is planned to sow 130,000 hectares of cotton in Lebap velayat and harvest a rich cotton crop. To this end, cotton sowing is actively carried out in all etraps of the eastern region. Currently, the daily sown area in the region is approaching five thousand hectares. In this regard, work is being carried out at an accelerated pace by the farmers of Kerki, Halach and Sayat etraps. Today, workers rationally use powerful high-performance foreign equipment. A significant part of it is controlled by a digital system, which indicates the active introduction of the latest achievements of science and technology in the farms. For example, new seeders "Monosem" are used.

More than 21,000 tons of high-quality cotton seeds were prepared for the sowing season. It should also be noted that on the territory of the city of Sakar, Sayat etrap, on an area of about 150 hectares, new varieties of cotton are planted, such as “Ýolöten-50”, “Ýolöten-53”. And on the sown areas of Sayat Research and Production Testing Farm, the variety "Garaşsyzlyk-30" is being tested. The fact that the workers of the agro-industrial complex of the velayat are well prepared for the sowing season and are successfully carrying out all the necessary work in this direction gives hope that the planned cotton harvest will be obtained this year.
