Issues of assistance to Afghanistan were discussed during the talks of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who is on a working visit to Tehran, with the President of Iran Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi.

The parties exchanged views on issues of the regional agenda in the light of the complex global processes currently taking place and taking into account the growing role of the Central Asian region. As noted, the favourable geopolitical location of the two countries serves as a reliable basis for the growing interest in developing cooperation at the regional level from year to year. In this context, special attention is paid to one of the topical issues on the bilateral agenda, in particular, ensuring security and stability in the region.

In this regard, Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that neighbouring states have a special role in their implementation, and noted the expediency of continuing work in this direction.
