The data, received during survey, indicates the presence of rich hydrocarbon reserves there. The project, which main target is development of the Turkmen part of the Caspian Sea through foreign investments as well as accumulation of volumes of exported hydrocarbons, was worked out.
It is planned to build 60 exploration and production wells and other necessary facilities in the first phase. According to preliminary calculations, the increase of geological reserves of oil will make approximately 38.5 million tons and total reserves of the oilfield are planned to be increased to 87.3 million tons during further works. Realization of the project stipulates the production of 6855771 tons of oil from this territory within seven years.
Around 600 million of US dollars are required for the development of this territory in the first stage. It is planned to involve foreign investments for implementation of this project on cost reimbursable basis by certain part of produced oil. In this regard, it is planned to establish joint venture with foreign company where main volume of works will be executed by the State Concern “Turkmenneft” and potential investor will perform services. The investment programme stipulates the development of 15 thousand square meters of the territory of Demirgazy Goturdepe field located in the Caspian offshore. According to the project, Turkmen side will perform 90 percent of the coming work.
