Archman is a well-known health resort of Turkmenistan, which is associated with many legends. According to one of the legends, once upon a time in these reserved places lived a young man named Archman. One day a villain put a disease on him, after causing the body of the young man to become covered with a smallpox rash.

Disfigured beyond recognition, the young man left his house and settled in cave. Soon, saving a mountain gazelle from death, Archman discovered natural spring with bubbling water. Bathed in miraculous water, the young man was completely healed of the disease. Since that time, this source bears his name.
