The subdivisions of the Turkmenneft State Concern develop the Severny Gonurdepe field in the Caspian shallow. A new productive strata was developed at the 4000,metre depth on the first year of drilling. The wells drilled later also produced excellent results. At present, the specialists of the State Concern work on deepening the drilling capacity up to 7,150 metres. It will be the first projected drilling depth in the history of the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan. The Korpedje Drilling Department already drilled a well at the 6,000-metre depth at the Uzun-Ada field.

The new Uzun-Ada field is considered to be rich in hydrocarbon resources. Exploration works started there 40 years ago at the depth of 4,213-4,411 metres. The seismic survey conducted in 2013 provided foundations for the second formation exposing but at the maximum depths. The lower red layer of the pliocene stratum will be entered with the help of the new drilling device ZJ-70 DB, which was purchased in China.

The Turkmenneft State Concern is the largest production complex of the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan. The specialists of the complex explore and develop oil and gas fields, enhancing hydrocarbon production up to the level specified by the Programme of development of the oil and gas industry of Turkmenistan till 2030. One of the aspects of its successful implementation includes improvement of the technological and economic efficiency of the entire production cycle - from geological prospecting, exploration and development of oil and gas to hydrocarbon transportation.

Along with the new drilling, the experts of the complex actively work on renovation of the existing wells. 604 wells were repaired and 479 wells were put into operation last year.
