14 000 000 cubic meters of gas, which makes 99 percent of design capacity of the facility, was transferred for one day from the wells drilled in the Caspian Shelf via Magtumguly Collector Riser and pipelines to the shore where gas treatment infrastructure of the company is located. Generally, in 2016, total volume of hydrocarbons production from marine platforms increased for 14 percent comparing with 2015.

From the start of production of the crude oil in 2009 from Diyabekir oil field and natural gas in 2011 from Magtumguly field, Malaysian PC(T)SB proved itself as the largest oil and gas producing company and supplier of natural gas in Turkmenistan. PETRONAS Carigali (Turkmenistan) Sdn Bhd, the subsidiary of PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd started exploration, development and production activity in Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea more than twenty years ago after signing of the Production Share Agreement on Block 1 contractual territory.

For a few years, the Company undertook successful works in exploration at Block 1 contractual territory, which proved the presence of oil and gas. During experimental production phase at the field, the company involved Mobil Offshore Production Unit and Floating Storage and Offloading. Later, Magtumguly Collector raiser and two platforms, West Diyabekir Drilling Platform – A and Central Diaybekir Drilling Platform – A, designed for development of Diyabekir offshore field, were installed.

Few years ago, PC(T)SB built combined facility in Kiyanly settlement of Turkmenbashy etrap, Balkan Velayat, which includes Offshore construction plant, breakwater and Single Point Mooring for export of gas condensate as well as supply base, warehouses, Training centre, sport complex, medical point, fire station and living complex. The largest facilities, the gas treatment plant and onshore gas terminal were put into operation on July 12, 2011 with participation of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Malaysia Dato Sri Mohd Nadjib Tun Abdul Razak.

Currently, onshore infrastructure includes oil treatment plant provide with advanced equipment with 5 billion cubic meters of gas and 2.4 million gas condensate yearly capacity. Offshore collector raiser and drilling platforms, connected with land by the pipelines, 60 000 cubic meters gas condensate storage as well as 52.7 km export land gas pipeline are put into operation.

Besides, the Company improved shoreline infrastructure under the project of development of the Caspian Shelf. Korean companies Hyundai engineering and LGI completed the construction of new production section on the territory of the plant near processing trains. Powerful equipment for purification and separation of crude oil as well as 20 000 cubic meters storage for export was installed there. At present moment, the commissioning of new section of the plant undergoes, after which crude oil will start to be delivered to the facility from Diyabekir field for further separation, stabilization and transfer to marine tankers by pipeline.

Training of national personnel is one of the aspects of the Company’s activity. Young perspective specialists are sent to Malaysia for the training. According to the memorandum of Understanding, signed between the International University of Oil and Gas and Petronas Technology University on November 8, 2016, the specialists of Malaysian University will train the students of engineering and management faculty of the International University of Oil and Gas.

The prospects of the development of rich hydrocarbon deposits of Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea were discussed last year by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov with top management of PETRONAS during the visit of the head of the State to Kuala Lumpur. During the meeting, the aspects of joint development of natural reserves of the Caspian Sea were discussed and new directions of cooperation were outlined.
