The competitions in digital sports timed to coincide with the World Health Day celebrated on April 7 on the planet have ended in Ashgabat. The venue was the sports complexes of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Education and Sports.

The competitions, which were attended by teams of universities and secondary schools of the capital, were held in four disciplines – digital football, digital basketball, digital table tennis and digital karate-do.

Recall that the term "digital" consists of two words – physical (physical) and digital (digital), meaning the combination of real and virtual. In the context of sports, it is a two–man event, where the same team fights first in a real sport, and then in an esports game similar to this sport.

According to the results of all types of the program, the first place among university teams with 5 gold medals was taken by students of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports. And among the schoolchildren, the students of the 52nd Ashgabat school excelled with 3 gold medals.

Digital sports are rapidly gaining popularity in Turkmenistan. In February of this year, the team of our country, which included representatives of the Oguz Han University of Engineering and Technology of Turkmenistan, took part in matches in digital football and digital basketball as part of the first multi-sport "Games of the Future" held in Kazan.
