Hockey players of the Belarusian club “Volat” won bronze medals at the international tournament ending in Ashgabat, the awards of which were competed by ten teams from Europe and Asia over six days. Alexander Shvaib achieved this success by defeating the Uzbek “Feniks” today in the match for 3rd place – 12:4 (3:0, 6:2, 3:2).

Already in the opening of the meeting, the Uzbek players were left in the minority due to Abdusamad Nasirov being sent off for 2 minutes for hitting an opponent with his stick, and the hockey players from Belarus realized their numerical majority. Nikita Trubitsin opened the scoring in the 4th minute. In the 6th and 8th minutes, Edward Green increased the lead of the Volat team to 3:0. In the last seconds of the first period, the Uzbek hockey players scored one goal, realizing a numerical majority. The goal turned out to be a little funny. The puck, after a shot from Abdusamad Nasirov, hit the post, then bounced into the goalkeeper’s foot and rolled into the goal from him.

It seemed that in the second period Feniks would be able to turn the tide of the game. However, this did not happen. In the second 20 minutes, the hockey players from Belarus scored six more goals against the opponent, conceding one of their own, and the teams went into the second break with the score 9:2 in favor of the Volat club.

In the final period, the Belarusian hockey players further developed their success, setting the final score 12:4 in their favor. The most productive player in the winning team was Edward Green, who scored five goals against the opponents. This is already the third penta-trick at the tournament. The first two were previously scored by Feniks team forward Artyom Varganov and Galkan club forward Perkhat Atekaev, who hit the goals of the Bahrain Ice Hockey Club from Bahrain and the team from Uzbekistan five times, respectively.

The winners of the gold and silver medals will be announced later today at the tournament. They will be played in the final by the eight-time champion of Turkmenistan “Galkan” and the Russian team “ADIHIC-Kazan” from the Republic of Tatarstan.
