The velayat round of the competition «The Best Carpet Weaving Club», announced by the Ministry of Education, the Central Council of the Women’s Union and the National Centre of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan, took place in the «Türkmeniň ak öýi» building in the city of Balkanabat.

The purpose of the competition is to attract the interest of young people to the original national art, identify talents and familiarize them with the intricacies of carpet weaving. According to the terms of the competition, the participants presented their works.

The contestants also sang songs and poems, read excerpts from the books of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, «Janly rowaýat», «Arşyň nepisligi».

According to the results of the competition, first place was taken by the club of secondary school № 20 of the Bereket etrap, which won the right to participate in the next round. The second and third places were taken, respectively, by the clubs of secondary schools № 22 of the Gyzylarvat etrap, № 15 and № 22 of the city of Balkanabat and № 5 of the Esenguly etrap.

The winners were presented with memorable gifts.
