On February 5, 2025, a meeting took place between Vepa Hajiev, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Office at Geneva, Dr. Annyssa Bellal, Executive Director of the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform, and Ambassador David Fernandez Puyana, Permanent Observer of the University for Peace to the UN and other international organizations.

During the discussion, the parties addressed the importance of trust as a key element in ensuring sustainable peace. In this context, Ambassador Hajiev reminded his counterparts that 2025 had been declared the "Year of Peace and Trust" by the UN General Assembly at Turkmenistan's initiative. He also emphasized that this year marks the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's status as a Permanently Neutral State, which serves as a significant foundation for its foreign policy.

The participants also explored opportunities for cooperation in areas such as joint publications, project implementation, and organization of planned events aimed at strengthening peace and trust on the international stage. The parties expressed their interest in further collaboration and underscored the importance of dialogue in advancing initiatives that contribute to global stability and security.
