Hu Muqing, head of the Shanghai Art Collection Museum, and Mao Xivei, head of the museum's international relations department, familiarized themselves with the work of the capital's museums and also visited the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan during their visit to Ashgabat.

The guests were introduced to the academy's "golden fund," which houses the best graduation, coursework, and competition works by students from various years. As part of the tour, the administration and faculty of the institution acquainted the delegation with the history, art, traditions and customs of the Turkmen people.

A vivid testament to the progress of modern infrastructure in the country was represented by models of its most famous buildings and monuments. Among the exhibits, the Monument of Neutrality of Turkmenistan stood out, symbolizing principles of peace, stability and friendship.

This year, celebrated under the motto "The International Year of Peace and Trust," marks the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality. The status of neutrality, twice recognized by UN resolutions, holds special significance for our country as it affirms its commitment to peace and stability while creating favorable conditions for developing international cooperation.

Impressed by the diversity of artworks at the Academy of Arts, Hu Muqing particularly highlighted paintings and sculptures depicting Akhal-Teke horses. He has emphasized that these world-famous horses are not only a national treasure but also an object of scientific interest. Continuing the dialogue, he expressed hope for potential collaboration with Turkmenistan.

The Shanghai Art Collection Museum is a member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM) and the Chinese Museums Association. It is recognized as a public organization and is included in models overseen by China's National Cultural Heritage Administration and Shanghai's Municipal Cultural Heritage Administration.

At the end of their visit, the guests also toured classrooms where young specialists are trained in ceramics, carpet weaving, and tapestry-making.

The meeting between the Head of the Shanghai Museum and representatives of the State Academy of Arts became an important milestone in establishing cultural ties and cooperation between Turkmenistan and China. Openness to dialogue and exchanging experiences in art and culture strengthens connections between the two nations and fosters mutual understanding and respect—an essential component of "The International Year of Peace and Trust."
