Specialists of the Turkmen Agricultural Institute contribute to the sustainable production of high-quality grain. They take an active part in selection and seed production work, further improvement of agricultural technology for the cultivation of various grain crops.

As is known, one of the main factors for successful grain production in large volumes is the creation and introduction of new varieties of grain crops adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of the region. Selection plays a major role in solving this problem.

The scientific team of the institute has been working for many years on the creation of various new varieties of grain crops, the mass production of which is promising in the Dashoguz velayat. As an example, we can cite the work on various modifications of the new winter wheat variety "Bereket", which, after development and long-term observation of various parameters, were transferred for further testing to the appropriate authority. The institute also studies various varieties of foreign selection for their suitability for cultivation in the conditions of the region.

Scientists of the higher education institution are also working on developing a resource-saving technology for growing winter wheat, the efficient use of crop seeds, including achieving precision in their sowing, determining the mechanical composition of the soil and the specifics of placing agricultural crops on it, and economical and efficient methods of irrigating corn.

It should be noted that such research is of great importance for the agricultural sector of the velayat, where the grain-growing industry traditionally occupies an important place.
