A unique case: two creative teams prepared the same play "Mother" by M. Myshshyev for the festival "Mother's Heart Full of Love," but with different interpretations.

The A.S. Pushkin State Russian Drama Theater presented this play in the genre of comedy drama with elements of grotesque, while the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater staged it in a lyrical-dramatic genre.

Which production is better is for the audience and jury to decide, but we would like to share our impressions of the performance on the stage of the National Drama Theater.

The audience was immediately enchanted by the lyrical opening scene, in which Ene, wrapping herself in a shawl gifted by her husband, mentally transported herself back to those distant youthful years when she met her destined one. Her sons have grown up and moved away, leaving their mother alone in the old house where they had once lived so happily. She longs for her children to visit her more often. However, they are caught up in their own families and work problems, and they only come when the topic of inheritance arises. The greed of her daughters-in-law and the weakness of her sons lead to the walls of the old house crumbling before her eyes. In the end, the house collapses, and Ene's soul, turning into a white shawl, ascends to the heavens. At this moment, the audience stood up to express their respect for this noble woman who became lonely despite having living sons.

The directors of this touching drama are Batyr Bekmyradov and Aynazar Batyrov, both Honored Workers of Culture of Turkmenistan. Batyr Bekmyradov is also the author of the magnificent scenography, whose allegory contributed to fully revealing the theme of the play.
