The project “Sustainable Energy Relations in Central Asia”, financed by the European Union, announces a competition among Journalists of Central Asia.
The competition aims to raise public awareness about the transition to clean energy for the benefit of people and the planet, and to draw attention to the expansion of the use of renewable energy sources and the transition to more sustainable energy systems.
As part of the competition, journalists from regional and local print and electronic media, tele- radio stations are invited to present their work on the following topics: sustainable energy, renewable energy, energy efficiency, gender equality in the energy sector, education for girls in STEM fields, technology, engineering and mathematics, green/sustainable construction practices, EU-Central Asian cooperation in the field of sustainable energy, EU research cooperation and Central Asia within the framework of the EU Horizon Europe program for Cluster 5 "Climate, Energy and Mobility".
The works must be published in print or electronic media or broadcast on television/radio between April 15, 2024 and May 14, 2025.
One applicant can provide no more than 3 materials for the competition. A participant may be an individual aged 18 years, which is one of the five countries of Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan or Uzbekistan). To participate in the competition, the applicant needs to fill out an application (attached in Russian and English) and attach competitive materials to it (article, essay, interview, television/radio plot/program), indicating the hyperlinks for materials, and in the case of a printed publication, attach a reduced copy in the PDF format with the name of the media, the date and issue number. The application and all attached materials must be sent to the email address: media@secca.eu.
The deadline for submitting applications for participation in the competition is May 14, 2025. Based on the results of the competition, 3 winners will be selected, who will receive cash prizes.
The results of the competition will be announced in late May or early June 2025 on the SECCA project website (https://secca.eu/ru ) and the SECCA project on social media, as well as in the framework of a special session that the SECCA project co-organizes during the "Astana International Forum".
