A training course on mobile journalism and the creation of media content on smartphones, organized by the OSCE Centre, took place in Ashgabat on April 16-17.

Invited international experts—Yuri Zvyagintsev (Russian Federation) and Jamshed Marupov (Republic of Tajikistan)—shared with participants the latest trends, including modern approaches to creating visual content.

Today, information is consumed predominantly through mobile devices, so a modern media specialist must be able to create high-quality video and photo content, quickly verify information, and, of course, write engaging texts in order to effectively convey information to the audience.

It is noteworthy that at present, readers in Turkmenistan can take advantage of convenient online subscription services to read the latest newspapers and magazines directly on their smartphones, which underscores the importance of the mobile format.

During the advanced training, media workers and journalism faculty from Turkmenistan studied a new set of effective tools that significantly improve the quality of their work, including in terms of creating attractive visual content and informative texts.

Practical assignments became an excellent opportunity for participants to apply new digital skills in journalism and multimedia. At the end of the course, all participants received certificates.

The OSCE Centre in Ashgabat actively cooperates with the Government of Turkmenistan, providing expert support in the process of digital transformation of the media. As part of this work, intensive training events aimed at raising the professional level of journalists are regularly organized.
