An international scientific project competition among youth will be held in Turkmenistan

Students of higher education institutions of Turkmenistan and abroad will take part in the International scientific project competition on the theme «The Role of Youth in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals».

The competition will be held on the occasion of 2025 - the International Year of Peace and Trust, World Environment Day and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality.

The international review of scientific projects of young people will be held in two stages in Turkmen, English and Russian. One or two students can act as authors of one work.

Reception of scientific projects for the first selection round of the competition will continue until the 1st of May. The competition is held in six areas reflecting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Among them: Clean water and sanitation; Affordable and clean energy; Combating climate change; Preservation of the marine ecosystem and others.

Student work will be evaluated according to the following six criteria: justification of the modernity and relevance of the project; innovativeness and scientific nature of the project; consistency of the project description; accuracy and clarity of the presentation of the project; feasibility of the project and production cost;  level of preparation and completion of the project.

To ensure that the competition is held at a high level, transparent, and that the work of the participants is fairly and objectively assessed, a special Central Organising Committee is being created. It includes representatives of the Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Nyyazov, the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan, professors, teachers, researchers, and scientists from our country and abroad who practice research in the field of ecology and environmental protection.

The list of scientific and project works that have passed to the second stage will be posted on the 20th of May on the official website of the TAU named after S.A. Nyyazov, where you can also find detailed information about the rules for holding the competition and registration of scientific projects.

Based on the results of the first stage of the competition, students will present an online presentation of their scientific project to the Central Organising Commission. The second main stage of the competition will be held from 2nd to 6th of June of this year. 

The main goals of the competition are to strengthen international cooperation in science and education and achieve the UN SDGs, stimulate interest of students in scientific research, develop their creative thinking and independent work skills, support talented youth, improve environmental of students culture and knowledge in the field of food security, environmental protection, rational use of natural resources, as well as familiarise young people with modern trends in science and technology in these areas.
