These days, the troupe of the people's theater located in the city of Andalyp, under the culture department of the Akdepe etrap of Dashoguz velayat, is working on staging the comedy “Saňa ýalan, maňa çyn” by the Lebap playwright G. Jumaev.
The director of the new production is Azat Hummedov, a Honored Artist of Turkmenistan and the leader of this amateur troupe. The new play touches on many themes reflecting national customs and traditions, stories of love, and simple everyday situations. The main roles are performed by O. Babaeva, an employee of the etrap culture department; J. Piriyeva, a teacher by profession; musician G. Toylyeva; and others.
There is a common belief that the success of people's theater productions is largely ensured by the special emotionality of their actors. This is not surprising - after all, the actors in such amateur groups are only those who sincerely love theater and who, even while dedicating most of their time to other professions, do not miss the opportunity to delight audiences with the art of stage transformation. The core of the people's theater troupe, by the way, one of the best in the velayat, also consists of people from various professions. What unites them all is the desire to serve their beloved art. The amateur actors eagerly learn theatrical skills from their experienced mentor Azat Hummedov, who has been leading this troupe for several decades. According to the director, one of his assistants is the theater’s set designer N. Ballyev.
Today, the people's theater repertoire includes dozens of different works intended for a wide range of audiences. Its actors perform in labor collectives and educational institutions of Akdepe etrap, and during the peak of the harvest season, they visit local field camps. On holidays, they also put on theatrical performances on various themes. Such active engagement and the desire to succeed in the theatrical field bear fruit - last year, the theater was recognized as the best of its kind in the province, and earlier one of its productions was awarded an honorable second place in the country.
It should be noted that other people's theaters also successfully operate under the etrap culture departments of the velayat, consistently delighting audiences with their productions.
