Three matches were held as part of the 10th round of the Turkmenistan Football Championship among top league clubs.

The most attention was drawn to the game in the city of Turkmenbashi, where the local team “Shagadam” hosted Balkanabat’s “Nebitchi” in the Balkan derby.

The first round match between these fierce rivals in Balkanabat ended in a 0-0 draw.

This time, fortune smiled on “Shagadam,” which scored the only goal in the second half and won 1-0. The winning goal was scored by Ionel Kosofana in the 69th minute.

After this victory, the team of honored Turkmenistan coach Ali Gurbani rose to third place with 18 points, but unlike their rivals, “Shagadam” has played more matches.

“Arkadag,” the team in second place, also has 18 points but has played only 6 matches so far.

The league table is led by “Ahal” with 21 points, which confidently defeated the capital’s “Kopetdag” away 3-0. Goals for the Main Department “Turkmennebitonumleri” team were scored by Dayanch Meredov (5th minute), Begmyrat Bayov (45+2, penalty), and Yakubmukhamet Govshudov (84th).

In another match of the round, “Merv” won at home against “Ashgabat” 2-0. The hosts’ goals were scored by Maksat Chagbaliev (47th minute) and Abdyresul Abdyyev (83rd).

After these matches, the top scorer race is led by Didar Durdyyev (“Arkadag”) with 6 goals. Two goals less have his teammates Altymyrat Annadurdyyev, Begench Akmamedov, Ikhlas Saparmamedov, as well as Meylis Diniyev (“Ahal”) and Abdyresul Abdyyev (“Merv”). Mekan Ashyrov (“Shagadam”), Zafar Babajanov (“Altyn Asyr”), Byashim Gurbanberdiyev (“Ashgabat”), and Dayanch Meredov (“Ahal”) each have 3 goals. Two goals each have Gurban Annaev, Elman Tagaev (both “Ahal”), Myrat Annaev, Selim Nurmyradov (both “Altyn Asyr”), Ikhlas Magtymow (“Shagadam”), Meylis Gaylyev (“Ashgabat”), and Shanazar Tirkishov (“Arkadag”).

The final match of the 10th round between “Arkadag” and “Altyn Asyr” has been postponed to one of the reserve days due to the participation of the Turkmenistan champion in the AFC Challenge League final.
