The Exhibition Hall of Art Exhibitions of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan hosted a thematic exhibition of works by Turkmen artists to celebrate the State Flag Day and Constitution Day of Turkmenistan.

Paintings about the capital of Turkmenistan are featured at the beginning of the exhibition. One of the most interesting works is “Arkadag City – City of Prosperity” by Sulgun Gurbandurdyyeva. The painting is executed in the form of an emblem consisting of two halves of a circle. Monuments  with horses are depicted against the backdrop of the city’s modern architecture. Despite the emblem’s composite nature, which includes white-winged doves – a symbol of peace, tahya – a youth headdress, cotton fields, wheat ears, and Turkmen embroidery, the artist maintained a harmonious color scheme.

Next to it is Aziza Ovezmyradova’s painting “Pearl of Asia – You, Ashgabat.” The work conveys the architecture of modern Ashgabat, painted in dark blue tones with golden contour lines. Most likely, the painting was created at night, when Ashgabat is as beautiful as it is during the day. Another painting that remains memorable for a long time is “My White City Ashgabat” by Bayramgeldi Geldiyev. The artist visually divides the work into two halves. On one side is a panorama of modern Ashgabat; on the other is a cafe terrace where a table covered with a white tablecloth awaits visitors. Through the foliage of the trees surrounding the terrace, shadows in the form of numerous irregular circles fall on the tablecloth. This work exudes coziness. Bayramgeldi Geldiyev’s painting expresses how pleasant it is to live in Ashgabat.

A large collection of landscapes was presented by Ovezmuhammet Mammetnurov. Special attention was drawn to two of his works under the common title “On the Mountain Slopes.” They are painted in the impressionist style using various colors to convey the shades of stone.

Artist Hamida Nabiyeva presented the painting “Morning.” Hamida depicted a morning in a village that begins with grape harvesting. Under the guidance of her grandfather, his granddaughter cuts juicy clusters of grapes. The painting is done in a realistic style, with every grape leaf depicted with precision. It radiates the good mood emanating from the grandfather and granddaughter.

In its manner of execution, the painting “Morning” resembles Toyly Chopanov’s work “Good Harvest,” which shows an old man carrying a box filled with grape clusters, returning home. This painting is also presented at the exhibition and once again makes visitors stop and admire it.

Myahriban Jumayeva presented the successful painting “Happy Childhood,” depicting children riding carousels. Moreover, Myahriban used an unusual vertical perspective, which includes four cabins with children in the field of view. The artist well conveyed the joy experienced by the little passengers as they rise up, from where the panorama of our capital can be seen.

The exhibition dedicated to the State Flag Day and Constitution Day of Turkmenistan opens a series of exhibitions on this theme in the museums and galleries of the capital.
