The Lebap velayat special art school under the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan was established in August 1975. Currently, there are about 90 teachers working here and about 260 talented young people studying.

The first director of the school was Ilaman Babayev. Then from 1978 to 1985 the school was headed by Jumabay Rozyev, and from 1985 to 2019 — Bashim Berdiev, who was awarded the honorary title of “People’s Artist of Turkmenistan” by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan for his significant contribution to the development of the arts of our independent, permanently neutral Fatherland.

The choir under the direction of B.Berdiev has successfully performed at various times in Uzbekistan, a number of cities in the Russian Federation, Latvia and Kyrgyzstan.

— In our school we train specialists in nine types of art, — says Batyr Akmuradov, one of the school's directors. Our experienced teachers have prepared dozens of textbooks for art and music schools. In addition, our specialists regularly visit children's schools located in the region and provide methodological assistance to their colleagues. And the recent festive concert prepared by students and teachers of the art school at the Seyitnazar Seydi State Musical and Drama Theater in honor of the anniversary made music lovers enjoy.

The skillful performance of songs praising our happy era, as well as wonderful musical works by national and world-famous classical composers, confirmed the high level of the school students.
