A concert by Nello Salza was held at the National Music and Drama Theatre named after Magtymguly. The Italian trumpeter dedicated this concert to the memory of the composer, arranger and tireless creator of film music Ennio Morricone. 

The overture to the evening was one of the most popular soundtracks by Ennio Morricone from the film «Malena» performed by the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan under the direction of Honoured Artist of Turkmenistan Rasul Klychev. And immediately the hall was immersed in melodic, calm and at the same time emotional music, characteristic of the creative style of the Italian composer. 

The audience greeted Nello Salza with applause when he appeared on stage. However, the audience was somewhat confused - the famous trumpeter did not have a trumpet. Nello Salza performed his first number in the genre of artistic whistling. And then the trumpet began to play – low, languid sounds, as if telling of something secret. Composer Ennio Morricone had one peculiarity in his work – the trumpet was always present in his music.

The concert featured soundtracks from films on various themes – westerns, science fiction, detectives, classic literary works. And all the soundtracks had Morricone’s signature – a life-loving, self-sufficient melody that conveyed not so much the emotional state of the characters as the circumstances of the events. The popular singer Bahar Durdyyeva was the soloist of the concert. She performed a humorous song «Come Some Night, Let’s Have Dinner» and a song from the film «Mission». Moreover, Bahar performed the first song vocally. 

The concert of Morricone’s beautiful music ended with two melodies from the film «One Time in America». Luigi Ferrari, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Italian Republic to Turkmenistan, came out on stage with three bouquets of flowers. The first was for Nello Salza, the second for Rasul Klychev, and the third for Bahar Durdyyeva. The ambassador assured the audience that the meeting with Nello Salza would definitely be repeated. 

–I am happy that I had the opportunity to perform the favourite works of the outstanding composer Morricone with the famous trumpeter Nello Salza on the same stage, –Rasul Klychev said in closing remarks. I hope that the friendship will not end here.
