An exhibition of paintings and sculptures by Turkmen artists has been launched at the State Museum of Fine Arts for the Day of Science.

Traditionally, each exhibition dedicated to this holiday in this museum opens with the painting «Physicists» by Yzzat Gylyjov. It can rightfully be called a masterpiece of painting. The People's Artist of Turkmenistan depicted a group of scientists as he imagined them. The painting shows a special cohort of people, cut off from the bustle of everyday life and entirely devoted to their scientific research. The artist depicted them as if they were several steps ahead of modern times. This is felt in the behavior of the scientists, their poses and even in the way they dress.

Similar to «Physicists» by Yzzat Gylyjov is the painting «They Conquer the Sun» by Tokar Tugurov. Scientists from the Scientific and Production Association «Sun» are depicted in the rays of the sun. Light and shadow introduced by the author enhance the energy of the painting. The expressions on the faces of scientists studying the phenomena of sunlight are striking in their dedication and love for their chosen work.

Next to these paintings, a sculpture by an unknown author, «Atom Model», is on display. The original composition introduces visitors to the smallest particle with electrons moving around it. Looking at the composition, it is difficult to imagine that this is what we and everything that surrounds us are made of.

Mommy Seyitmyradov's small sculpture «Avicenna» is impressive. The greatest scientist of the East, Abu Ali Ibn Sina, leaned over a scroll, possibly working on the «Canon of Medicine».

A separate section of the exhibition is portraits of Turkmen scientists who have made a huge contribution to the country's science. Among them are «Professor Odek Odekov», who studies geotectonics, and «Professor Aysoltan Mammetgulyyeva», who studies medical problems. The author of both works is Nyyazmyrat Dovodov.
Two portraits are dedicated to prominent breeders - Ivan Maksimenko and Omurguly Ahmedov. The first portrait was painted by Mammet Mammedov, the second - by Evgeniy Grishin.
The exhibition ends with the painting «Song of the Turkmens». The author of the painting, Ata Akyyev, depicted a bagshy singing about people who dedicated themselves to science in a monochrome style. The scientists that the artist presented are purposeful individuals focused on their research.
The exhibition of works by Turkmen artists dedicated to Science Day evokes sincere respect for people who have connected their lives with science.
