The pulse crops mung and noyba have firmly taken one of the important places in the agricultural sector of the Dashoguz velayat. Thus, this year mung beans will be planted on seven thousand 300 hectares, and noyba on 410 hectares. The largest producers of pulse crops in the region will be farmers of the Akdepe etrap, where it is planned to harvest over two and a half thousand tons of mung bean and 180 tons of noyba. About one and a half thousand hectares of land are allocated for mung bean in Koneurgench etrap, and it is planned to place noyba here on 65 hectares. The number of large producers of pulse crops also includes the S.Turkmenbashi and Boldumsaz etraps' farmers.
The production of these crops in such volumes not only helps to satisfy consumer demand, but also to use land and water resources rationally and efficiently. According to experts, pulse crops are of great importance in crop rotation for obtaining high yields of agricultural crops and improving the ameliorative composition of the soil. The rapid ripening of these crops allows them to be used as intermediate crops. At the same time, they tolerate transportation well and have a long shelf life.
It should be noted that the farmers of the velayat have extensive experience in successfully growing these crops in the weather and climate conditions of the region. This allows them to annually achieve high returns on each hectare and successfully cope with the planned tasks for harvesting mung beans and noyba.
