For the 30th anniversary of the country's Neutrality, the creative team of the National Drama Theatre named after Alp Arslan is preparing the premiere of the play based on Chingiz Aitmatov's work «Face to Face».
The tragedy that happened to the deserter Islam and his wife Seyde will not leave anyone indifferent in the hall. As is typical of the Kyrgyz classic, the heroes of the story «Face to Face» are divided into dirty heartless people and pure people, strong in spirit. Chingiz Aitmatov has no penumbras: if you betrayed your fellow soldiers just to survive yourself, you will betray your fellow villagers in the same way. The author of the staging for the play is Gadam Kakabayev, who managed to preserve Aitmatov's dramatic nature of the work. The director is Honoured Artist of Turkmenistan Handurdy Berdiyev.
The production designer is Mekan Annamyradov. The names of the leading actors are still kept secret. The National Drama Theatre named after Alp Arslan often turns to Aitmatov's works. Let's remind such performances as «My Poplar in a Red Scarf» and «The White Steamship». Both performances were a huge success. In the International Year of Peace and Trust, Kyrgyz classics will once again make the hearts of Turkmen lovers of the performing arts tremble.
