The final stage of the “Gülüň owadan!” competition, dedicated to 2025 – the International Year of Peace and Trust, as well as the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, was held in the administrative building of the Center for Public Organizations of Turkmenistan. The competition was organized jointly by the Central Council of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan, the National Center of Trade Unions and the Secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO. The final round was attended by women who won the preliminary stages of the competition, which took place in the cities of Ashgabat, Arkadag and in the velayats of the country.

This competition was announced among talented and hardworking women of our country who make a great contribution to the prosperity of the Fatherland, the preservation and enrichment of centuries-old traditions. It is based on the statement of the President of Turkmenistan: "The fruits of our women's labor are reflected in the rapid development of our dear Motherland. I express my gratitude to them for the fact that our women and girls make a worthy contribution to the great deeds that we are carrying out in the era of the Revival of a new epoch of a powerful state."

The main goal of the competition is to demonstrate the methods of making magnificent examples of national felt mats, which serve as decoration for Turkmen homes. The competition is also designed to instill in the younger generation respect for national values, pass them on to future generations, and increase interest in handicrafts inherited from mothers and grandmothers. In addition, the competition is aimed at educating and popularizing among young people femininity, natural beauty, and noble qualities inherent in Turkmen women.

According to the first condition of the competition, the women demonstrated the work of making the Turkmen national felt mat, and also talked about the names and use of the tools needed to create it. Then the participants, in accordance with the characteristics of their velayats, decorated the felt mat using ancient national ornaments, such as "ak tuynuk", "gyzyl tuynuk", "gozenek", "saylan", "gulyaydy", "sekiz" gochak", "gelinbarmak", "gapyrga", "okuz onurga", "gonjuk", "hindi gochak", "ichyanagzy", "tazy guyruk", "saylap", "barmak" and other patterns.

According to the terms of the competition, the participants also presented historical information, traditions, ancient legends, jokes, gazals and proverbs that reveal the history of the patterns and colors of felt — this art of beauty. They also expressed their pride in the era of the Revival of a new epoch of a powerful state through poetic lines and artistic scenes.

Following the results of the competition, the jury determined the winners. Thus, the main prize was awarded to Yazbibi Mamedova, a primary school teacher at specialized school No.25 with in-depth study of foreign languages in the city of Dashoguz of the Dashoguz velayat, as well as Sulgunjemal Potyeva — assistant teacher of kindergarten No.30 in the city of Dashoguz of the Dashoguz velayat.

First place was awarded to Bossan Shirieva — a resident of the Mary velayat, Guljahan Yazlyeva — a mathematics teacher at the secondary school No.32 of the Yoloten etrap of of the Mary velayat, Guljan Oveznepesova — primary school teacher of specialized secondary school No.3 with advanced study of English in the city of Arkadag and Akgul Gurbanmamedova — a research fellow at the Department of Registration and Storage of Museum Values at the Arkadag Museum of History and Local Lore.

Second place was taken by Lachyn Rejepgulyeva, the organizer of cultural events of the rural House of Culture in the "Avchy" gengeshlik of the Sayat etrap of the Lebap velayat, and Mahri Ahmedova, the head of the circle of the House of Children and Adolescents of the Halach etrap of the Lebap velayat.

The jury awarded third place to Gulshat Danatarova — a tour guide at the Historical and Local Lore Museum in the village of Akvekil of the Babadayhan etrap of the Ahal velayat, Selbi Annakurbanova — research fellow of the Historical and Local Lore Museum of the Department of Culture of the Tejen etrap of the Ahal velayat, Guljemal Annamyradova — Deputy Director of the Department of Nature and Local History of the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan and Amangul Gurbanova — custodian of funds of the department for the creation of an electronic database and certification of the museum fund of the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan.

Prizes were also awarded to Rejepbibi Sapargylydzhova, a specialist of the Chekishler gengeshlik Council of the Esenguly etrap of the Balkan velayat, and Gulnara Hajyeva, a junior nurse at the medical center of the Esenguly etrap hospital of the Balkan velayat.

During the competition, music was played, adding to the festive atmosphere. The winners were awarded Certificates of Honor and valuable gifts.
