Due to good organization of work, mash has been planted on 7,300 hectares, noiba on 410 hectares, and sesame on 560 hectares in the velayat within acceptable timeframes.
More than anywhere else in the region, land plots for these crops were allocated in Akdepe etrap. Here, this year it is planned to harvest over two and a half thousand tons of mash, 180 tons of noiba, and 135 tons of sesame. Among the major producers of grain legumes and oilseed crops in the velayat are the workers of Kunya-Urgench and Boldumsaz etraps, as well as S. Turkmenbashi etrap.
Farmers in the velayat have rich experience in cultivating this important agricultural product. Skillfully combining this experience with modern scientific recommendations enables them to achieve high results each year, thereby contributing to providing the consumer market with in-demand food products and increasing volumes of produced plant-based grain and protein. Due to timely agronomic care measures, the average yield of mash and noiba here reaches 15 centners per hectare annually, and sesame 10 centners per hectare. In addition, intercropping of grain legumes with other crops contributes to the enhancement of agricultural and soil biodiversity.
