On the sidelines of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, on August 7, a meeting was held between representatives of the International Sea Port of Turkmenbashi and a delegation of the State Secretariat for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria. This was reported by the State Service of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan.

The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize the Austrian side with the transport and logistics potential of Turkmenistan and discuss prospects for cooperation in the field of logistics and sustainable transport.

The members of the Austrian delegation were provided with detailed information about the capabilities of the International Sea Port of Turkmenbashi, including its modern technical equipment, container services and multimodal cargo transportation. The members of the delegation also visited the port territory, where they got acquainted with its logistics and administrative infrastructure on the spot.

During the negotiations, ways to expand international cargo transportation along the Europe-Asia routes through the territory of Turkmenistan and issues of strengthening the interconnectivity of transport corridors were discussed.
