The national teams of Thailand and Nepal were drawn as opponents of the Turkmen football players following the draw held in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) for the qualifying tournament of the 10th Asian Cup among teams of girls under 17 years old, the final part of which will be held from 30th of April to 17th of May, 2026 in China.
27 teams divided into eight groups will compete for tickets to the final tournament. Three will have four teams, and five will have three.
As a result of the draw, Turkmenistan and its opponents ended up in Group «F», the matches in which will be held in Thailand.
The composition of the others:
Group A: Philippines, Malaysia, Tajikistan (home team), Syria;
Group B: Iran, Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia (home team);
Group C: Indonesia, Myanmar (home team), Mongolia, Macau;
Group D: Vietnam (home team), Hong Kong, China, Guam;
Group E: Australia, Singapore (home team), Northern Mariana Islands;
Group G: India, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz Republic (home team);
Group H: Bangladesh, Chinese Taipei, Jordan (home team).
The qualifying matches in all groups will be held from 13th to 17th of October 2025 in a centralised single-round format.
The group winners will advance to the final round. In the last stage of the competition, they will join four AFC representatives – DPRK, Japan, the Republic of Korea and China – who have automatically qualified for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Morocco. As a result, 12 teams will play in the final tournament for the first time – four more than in the previous edition.
