In the International Year of Peace and Trust, the Main Academic Drama Theater opens the theatrical season with the play "Melodies of Dutar", based on the work of our Arkadag. The choice of the play is no coincidence, it tells the story of the legendary Shukur-bakhshi, who entered the culture of the Turkmen people with his peaceful act.

Shukur-bakhshi became famous for contrasting dutar's melodies with the bloodshed of his fellow villagers. If only everything could be solved so diplomatically. Military conflicts on Earth, people would forget what the word "war" means. With his skillful playing on the dutar, Shukur-bakhshi won the championship in the competition, and according to the agreement, the Shah released Shukur's brother from captivity.

The play was staged in 2019 by the People's Artist of Turkmenistan. By Kakajan Ashirov. The director chose not an artist as the main actor, but a professional musician, Resul Baryev, who lives in the city of Serdar, as he considered the music of Shukur–bakhshi to be the main character in this story. The result surpassed itself. However, organizational issues with a nonresident performer were malfunctioning, and I had to find a replacement for him in my team. We needed a pleasant-looking young man who plays the guitar. The choice fell on Serdar Artykov, who was "friends" with guitar, guitar, keyboards and pop vocals.

Production designer Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Maksat Amangylydzhov designed the set design with an enlarged image of a keshte ornament of Turkmen embroidery. Nura Halmamedov's music for the movie "The Contest" resounded even in the patterns of the embroiderers, emphasizing the national mentality of the action.

The audience, who came to the opening of the theater season, once again found themselves in the twists and turns of the dramatic circumstances of the play "The Melody of Dutar" and gratefully applauded the legendary Shukur-bakhshi for the instructive ending of the story of his brother's liberation.

- I enjoyed playing the role of Shukur-bakhshi, - says Serdar Artykov. – Sometimes it seemed to me that I was more interested in living in a play than in my own life. I was lucky enough to play Shukur in the Uzbek comedy "Tell the Truth", Mitya in the play "With your loved ones not part ways", by Abel in the prehistoric tragedy "Cain and Abel". In each The roles have their own character, their own era, and their own world. I change from one image to another – this is my profession. The image of Shukur-bakhshi is closest to me, I would like to be in his place – to become the same and bring joy to people.
