The Turkmen delegation took part in the 24th Meeting of the CAREC Customs Cooperation Committee

On September 3–4 of this year, the 24th Meeting of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) Customs Cooperation Committee (CCC) took place in Bishkek (Kyrgyz Republic).

The main goal of the meeting was to discuss the implementation of regional and national projects within the of the Customs Cooperation Committee Work Plan 2024–2025. Key areas of cooperation were reviewed, in particular initiatives on trade facilitation, comprehensive risk management, simplification of regional transit operations, digitalization and development of paperless trade, as well as the introduction of “green customs” principles.

At the meeting, the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan was represented by the Head of the Department of Customs Control Organization and an employee of the same department. The delegation from our country presented a report on current national projects in customs management, including digitalization, optimization of transit operations, and steps taken to develop cooperation within CAREC.

As a result of the meeting, a draft of the Customs Cooperation Committee Work Plan 2025–2026 was agreed upon, and the protocol of the 24th CCC Meeting was adopted.
