A concert dedicated to the International Music Day was held in the Grand Hall of the M. Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory. Most of the audience in the hall were elderly people. There is an explanation for this: the calendar date of the International Day of Older Persons coincides with the International Music Day, so the concert organizers—specialists from the Department of Chamber Ensemble—invited music lovers of the older generation to the concert.

Traditionally, the honor of opening the program was given to the dutar. Lachin Hudayberdiyeva, laureate of the “Turkmeniň Altyn asyry” prize, performed the Turkmen folk melody “Balsaýat” on this legendary musical instrument. That evening, the hall resonated with the music of Rejep Rejepov, Bach, Puccini, Hydyr Allanurov, Chopin, Ravel, Verdi, Sviridov, and other well-known composers.

The audience especially noted the performance of tenor Meylis Myratgeldiyev, who soulfully sang Hydyr Allanurov’s piece “Söwer ýar.” Enthusiastic applause greeted the laureate of the “Turkmeniň Altyn asyry” prize, Begench Moshiev, who performed the piece “Duran ýerlere” from the film “Keçpelek.”

Memorable for its elegance was the joint performance by Aybolek Mukhieva and Seyran Atanyazov, who played Bach's Concerto for Two Violins with Orchestra. A surprise for the listeners was the romance “Memories of You” by Jeren Gurbangylyjova, which was not included in the program. Notably, not only the audience applauded the author, who was present in the hall, but also the performers—vocalist Bahar Durdyyeva and accompanist Stella Faramazova.

Lovers of serious music particularly appreciated the performance of the Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Vladimir Mkrtumov, who presented two works by Ravel—“Pavane pour une infante défunte” and “Alborada del gracioso.”

The concert program concluded with the piece “Toý Aýdymy” by Chary Nurymov, performed by all the concert vocalists. Solo parts were performed by People's Artist of Turkmenistan Gulnar Nuryeva and Begench Moshiev. Accompanists were Stella Faramazova, Enejan Nuryeva, Maya Beimanova, and Ashyr Ashyrov.

The concert once again demonstrated the vocal mastery of the conservatory performers and the virtuosic skill of the instrumentalists.
