The harvest has begun on specialised farms in the Saparmyrat Turkmenbashy etrap, the region's main producer of this crop. Here, rice is grown on 4,750 hectares by the «S.A. Nyýazow» dayhan association and on 2,800 hectares by the «27 Oktyabr» dayhan association.
In recent years, a private enterprise, the «Ykbal Achary» Economic Society, has also been actively involved in rice production, with its rice paddies covering 600 hectares this year. Overall, rice farmers in the velayat hope to yield over 43 centners of grain per hectare and at least 35,000 tons of pearl grain. This year's harvest was once again dominated by the «Nöküs-2» and «Bereket» rice varieties, which have proven themselves to be successful in local climate conditions.
Furthermore, the fast pace of the harvest is facilitated by the availability of specialized equipment, including high-performance «John Deere» and «CLAAS» combines. A large number of vehicles are deployed to ensure the timely transportation of the harvested grain. Thanks to a well-thought-out organisation of the work, all the necessary conditions have been created for the successful completion of the harvest within the scheduled timeframe.
It is worth noting that, thanks to government investment, a full production cycle has been established in the region, including the production of high-quality seed, sowing, harvesting, storage, and processing of rice. A modern, high-performance facility located in the S. Turkmenbashy etrap processes the rice into finished products.
